About Battle Born Eye Care

Battle Born Eye Care was founded in 2016 by Dr. Chris and Dr. Brittany Nannini with the goal of bringing advanced, thoughtful eye care to Northern Nevada. From the beginning, our office has been family-owned and locally operated — and it still is today.

Dr. Chris provides patient care in the office, while Dr. Brittany focuses on practice leadership, patient experience, and the continued growth of Battle Born Eye Care. Together, they have built the practice around thorough exams, personalized recommendations, and a commitment to helping patients feel heard and well cared for.

Meet the Team

Christopher Nannini, OD

Co-Founder | Practice Owner | Specialty Contact Lenses | Medical Eye Care

Dr. Chris Nannini specializes in helping patients who need more than a standard eye exam or basic contact lens fit. Since opening Battle Born Eye Care in 2016, he has developed a special interest in specialty contact lenses and myopia management, including orthokeratology, multifocal contact lenses, and scleral lenses.

He works with patients who have keratoconus, corneal scarring, dry eye disease, post-surgical corneal changes, and other complex vision needs. He also provides medical eye care for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, flashes and floaters, red eyes, eye pain, and eye emergencies.

A fourth-generation Northern Nevadan, Dr. Chris graduated from Reed High School before earning his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada. He went on to graduate from Pacific University College of Optometry and completed a residency at Northeastern State University, where he received advanced training in contact lenses, ocular disease, and urgent eye care.

Before opening Battle Born Eye Care, Dr. Chris spent five years working in a surgical and referral center, gaining extensive experience in medical eye care and complex contact lens fitting.

Brittany Nannini, OD

Co-Founder | Practice Owner | Neurovisual Care Background

Dr. Brittany Nannini co-founded Battle Born Eye Care with her husband, Dr. Chris Nannini, in 2016. Originally from Lovelock, Nevada, Dr. Brittany graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned her doctorate from Pacific University College of Optometry. She then completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry at Northeastern State University before returning to Northern Nevada.

Dr. Brittany has advanced training in neurovisual medicine and binocular vision dysfunction, a specialty area focused on how the eyes work together and how visual misalignment can contribute to symptoms such as headaches, eye strain, dizziness, motion sensitivity, double vision, and difficulty reading. She is one of a small number of graduates of the Neurovisual Medicine Institute, where she trained with Dr. Debby Feinberg.

Today, Dr. Brittany’s role at Battle Born Eye Care is primarily focused on practice leadership, patient experience, and the continued growth of the office. She remains closely involved behind the scenes, helping guide the practice’s commitment to thoughtful, personalized eye care.

Through her work as co-founder and practice owner, Dr. Brittany helps ensure that Battle Born Eye Care continues to provide the kind of thorough, advanced, and individualized care patients have come to expect.
